FARRER BY-ELECTION

Aimee Pearson

Candidate for Farrer

Albury pharmacist Aimee Pearson is standing for Farrer because she sees, every day, where the system is falling short.

Living and working in the region, Aimee understands the real pressures facing local communities. From long wait times to limited access to care, she has seen firsthand how hard it can be for people to get the support they need.

“People shouldn’t have to wait months or travel long distances just to access basic healthcare,” Aimee says. “That’s the reality for too many in our region.”

With a background in community pharmacy and oncology, Aimee brings both professional experience and personal insight to her campaign.

“When my husband was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, we experienced what it’s like to manage chronic pain,” she says. “It opened my eyes to how important it is that patients can access the treatments that actually work for them.”

For Aimee, this is not just policy. It is personal.

She has seen the benefits of medicinal cannabis up close, both as a healthcare professional and within her own family.

“Medicinal cannabis made a real difference without the need for opioids. But the laws haven’t kept up with that reality,” she says.

“You can follow your doctor’s advice and still lose your licence. That’s not how any other prescription medicine is treated. If you’re not impaired, you shouldn’t be punished. In regional areas, losing your licence can mean losing your independence, your job, everything.”

Aimee is running to bring practical, real-world solutions to the issues locals are talking about every day.

Aimee’s priorities for Farrer:

  • Strengthening services at Albury Hospital

  • Supporting local businesses doing it tough

  • Tackling housing pressure in the region

  • Improving infrastructure and services across border communities

  • Fighting for fair water policy for local farmers

  • Fixing cannabis driving laws that unfairly impact patients

“People here are fed up with being overlooked,” Aimee says. “They want real solutions, not more of the same.”

Aimee Pearson is ready to be a strong local voice for Farrer—focused on fairness, practical reform and making sure regional communities are no longer left behind.
