The study "Cannabinoids for fibromyalgia pain: a critical review of recent studies (2015–2019)" published in the Journal of Cannabis Research examines the use of medical cannabis for managing fibromyalgia pain. Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterised by widespread musculoskeletal pain, affecting 5-7% of the global population, and often responds poorly to traditional pain treatments.
This review analysed studies from 2015 to 2019 to assess the safety and efficacy of cannabis as an alternative treatment. It followed systematic guidelines and included five studies with a total of 827 participants who used various cannabis preparations. The review aimed to evaluate the potential benefits and limitations of using cannabinoids for fibromyalgia pain management.
