Meet our Lead Senate Candidate for Qld
We are delighted to introduce Belinda Jones (Bee), a passionate advocate for social justice and cannabis law reform, her life journey has been deeply shaped by politics and a desire to leave a better legacy for future generations.
“As I’ve gone through life, I’ve always been interested in politics”, says Belinda. “Over the last decade, I’ve felt a powerful need to become more involved, to fight passionately for the causes I believe in, and to leave a better future for my children and grandchildren”.
A freelance journalist with a strong online following, Belinda is known for her fearless investigations and activism through independent media. She is never afraid to ask the hard questions or hold politicians accountable.
“I’m proud to represent the Legalise Cannabis Party as your Senate candidate for Queensland at the next federal election”, says Belinda. “LCP is a centre-left, non-obstructionist party that understands enduring change happens in small steps. Medicinal cannabis has been incredibly effective for me personally, and while it’s a great achievement, we must go further and fully legalise”.
Based on the Gold Coast, Belinda has lived a vibrant and varied life. She earned a Bachelor of Education as a mature-age student and spent years teaching before venturing into roles as diverse as bus driving, construction and retail. As a medicinal cannabis user herself, she strongly supports legalisation, cannabis production and harnessing hemp’s potential as a sustainable alternative to water-intensive crops like cotton.
The Legalise Cannabis Party has high hopes for Belinda in the 2025 Federal Election. In 2022, the Party came tantalisingly close to unseating Pauline Hanson from the Senate. With Belinda’s experience, passion and commitment, the Party is confident of achieving a historic win for cannabis law reform.
